Carena KS

The Carena KS is a 35mm camera. It is part of the group of single lens reflex cameras and was sold under the Carena brand by Photo Porst. Produced was this camera probably by Cosina.

The lens of the Carena KS is exchangeable. A Pentax K lens mount was installed for this purpose. In most cases you will find the camera with the Carenar 1,7/55mm. The Carena KS has no autofocus. Therefore, you have to focus by hand.

The built-in light meter makes it easier to measure exposure. The exposure meter was designed to work with films between ISO 25 and ISO 1600. The correct exposure is measured through the lens of the SLR camera. The aperture and shutter speed are freely adjustable.

The photo camera comes with a bulb mode. In this mode, the shutter will open as long as the shutter release button is pressed. An external flash can be connected to the Hot Shoe. There is also a PC flash socket. The Carena KS has a thread for a tripod and a connection for a cable release. In addition, there is a self-timer.

The camera has a weight of 565 grams. The dimensions are 14,1 x 9,1 x 5 cm.

Films for the Carena KS

Photographic films are required for the Carena KS. Films for the 35mm format are used. 35mm films are still being produced and are developed by most photo laboratories without any problems. A possible film for color photography is the Agfaphoto Vista 200*. One option for b/w images is the Ilford Delta 400*.

Carena KSM 1

Beside the KS there was also the Carena KSM 1. This model came with a connection for a motor winder and a split image distance finder. This makes the camera a bit heavier. There was also the Carena KSM 2.
