The Weist 135 is a viewfinder camera. The 35mm camera was produced by Haking in Hong Kong. There the model was offered under the name "Halina 3000".
The 35mm camera comes with a fixed focal length. The name of the lens is "Halinar Anastigmat 1:2.8 F=45mm". The focal length is 45mm and the maximum aperture is f/2.8. The camera has no autofocus. It is focused manually. The closest focusing distance for this lens is 100 cm.
The Weist 135 has a built-in light meter. The metering cells work without electricity, but may lose accuracy over the years and may also stop working completely. Exposure time and aperture can be freely selected.
The camera has a bulb setting. An external flash can be used via the hot shoe or PC flash port. The 35mm camera has a connector for a cable release. There is also a thread for mounting a tripod.
Films for the Weist 135
Without photo films, nothing works with the Weist 135. The camera needs 35mm films more precisely. For this film format, there is still a good selection of material for color and black and white images. A 35mm film for color pictures is the Agfaphoto Vista 200*. A possible black and white film is the AgfaPhoto APX 100*.
The color film is processed in the C-41 process. This is offered by almost every photo lab.
The exposure area of the Weist 135 is 24 mm x 36 mm big. For example, a 36-frame 35mm film can hold at least 36 photos at this size. The film in the camera must be winded manually, as there is no automatic film transport.
The model can today only be found used. The price for a used copy of the camera vary depending on the condition.
