The Polaroid Pro Röyksopp is a camera from Polaroid. This edition was introduced in the early 2000s. It is based on the Polaroid One600 Pro.
The edition was designed for the Norwegian music group Röyksopp. The Norwegian duo released the single "Only This Moment" from their second album "The Understandig" in 2005. The body of the Polaroid camera is silver and black. On the top there is the band's logo and the imprint "Only this moment" in black letters.
The Polaroid Pro Röyksopp impresses with its ease of use. Many setting options that are common with other types of cameras have been eliminated. The ease of use results in a low barrier to entry and thus a wide range of possibilities for areas of application. If you are planning a wedding or party, the camera is a good choice for taking pictures. However, it is also a lot of fun on vacation.
The lens is a 100 mm fixed focal length. It cannot be exchanged. There is also no way to adjust the aperture. The model does not have a zoom function. To zoom, it is necessary to get closer to the subject. To avoid blurry pictures, a distance of 60 cm to the subject must not be undercut.
An integrated flash could not be missing in the camera, of course. The flash fires automatically and can be used up to a distance of 3 meters from the subject. Especially when the lighting conditions are not optimal, one is often grateful for the flash. If you want, you can use the red-eye prevention mode.
The camera can be triggered via the built-in self-timer. The lead time is twelve seconds. In this mode, it makes sense to mount the camera on a tripod. There is a corresponding thread on the bottom for this.
The camera's display shows the number of remaining pictures, among other things. A light/dark slider gives the possibility to influence the exposure. Other possibilities one does not have as a user.
Films for the Polaroid Pro Röyksopp
Of course, instant film is also needed for the camera. The original film stock is no longer produced. But there is a new edition under the same name from a new company.
There is a suitable color film and a black and white film for the camera. The appropriate choice for color photos is the Polaroid Color Film for 600*. If you prefer to take monochrome pictures, you can use the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*. They are very popular among a wide range of photographers.
One box of a film contains eight photos. Under no circumstances should the light-sensitive material come into contact with light. The film material should be stored in the dark and dried.
According to the specifications of the film format, one image measures 10.8 x 8.8 cm. An area of 7.7 by 7.7 cm is provided for the actual image. The remaining area is filled by a white area. Editions with colored frames are also offered.
Is there any compatibility of the Instax films? No, Fuji's films do not fit the Polaroid camera.
Batteries
Do you need batteries for the Polaroid Pro Röyksopp? With this type of camera, you will find the battery in the cassette along with the unexposed images. It contains enough power for all unexposed images in the film cassette. Even when the flash is used. So with each film change, the battery is also changed. This is the only battery needed for the camera.
The film cassette with the battery should not be disposed of in household waste. The battery should be recycled accordingly.
Similar models
If you can't find a camera, you can turn to alternatives. The first alternative is the Polaroid Pro. It is similar in the range of functions and the same film material is exposed.
Maybe one also wants cameras from other manufacturers as an alternative. Two non-Polaroid instant cameras are the LomoInstant Wide* and Instax Mini 11*. Suitable film stock will continue to be manufactured for both cameras.
