The Haking Vision II / Haking Vision 2 is a 35mm camera from Hong Kong. It was probably built in the 1990s. The model is particularly suitable for beginners for a variety of motifs. You shouldn't expect excellent quality photos from this type of camera. A functionally identical model was sold as the Ansco Vision II.

Specifications of the camera

It is equipped with a fixed 35mm lens, the focal length of which is probably around 33 mm. The largest possible aperture is f/5.6. You won't find an autofocus function because this is a model in which the focusing is fixed. An integrated sliding door is used to protect the lens from potential damage and contamination.

Unfortunately, this model does not offer any options for adjusting the exposure. The expected shutter speed is estimated to be 1/125 second.

Of course there is also an integrated flash. However, functions to reduce “red eyes” or a tripod thread and self-timer are missing. However, a hand strap can be attached as a practical feature.

The energy supply is provided by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*), although the use of rechargeable batteries is advisable. One set of batteries lasts for a longer time.

Film options for the Haking Vision II

According to the user manual, the Haking Vision II accepts 35mm roll film. This type of film roll is still available from several suppliers and can be developed.

Good film options for this compact camera could be the Kodak Gold 200* for color photography and the Ilford Delta 400* for monochrome photography. Other brands such as Lomography, Fujifilm, Rollei, Adox and Foma also offer suitable films.

A motor in the camera advances the film after each frame. A counter on the surface provides information about the number of images already taken. You can view the current film via a small window on the back.

There is no engine for the return transport. After the end of the film, it is wound back into its cassette using a crank. Only then should you open the camera to remove the film for development. It is important that the film is completely rewound before opening to prevent damage from exposure to light.

Production of this model has now been discontinued. The camera's current value depends primarily on its condition and functionality. It does not have a particularly high collector's value.
