Oskar Smolokowski, der CEO von Impossible, hat einen öffentlichen Brief an die Sofortbildcommunity verschickt. Themen sind die Entwicklung der neuen Farb- und Schwarzweißfilme und das Instant Lab.

Dear Impossible Community,

As we enter our seventh year as a company, I wanted to give you an update on where we are with a number of important projects.

We’ve doubled down on R&D, giving Stephen Herchen and his team the resources they need to take the next big step in the development of our film. It’s been more difficult than anyone could have imagined to get even this far, but we have no intention of giving up on this incredible product. This year will be a big one for Impossible instant film!

In just a few weeks we will launch the first major change to our B&W film formula since 2012. We’re calling it Generation 2.0, and it will be our best film to date – sharper, with blacker blacks and whiter whites. Above all, you won’t have to shield it from light anymore. Also, and sorry to keep going, it’ll be the most instant film we’ve made, by far!

I want to thank our factory and R&D teams in Enschede and Monheim. These guys put their hearts and souls into this film, and it shows.

On the color film front, this week we’re going to release a new Pioneer batch of what will one day become the Color Gen 2.0. Early results have blown us away over here, and I’m hoping you will feel the same way. We’ve still got a lot of work ahead of us on this film, and your observations are a huge part of the development process. Every bit of input we get is extremely helpful in taking the next steps.

Finally, we’ve just released a major update to the Instant Lab: the Instant Lab Universal. For the first time, it will work with iOS and Android devices of all screen sizes, including tablets. We’re also working very hard on another hardware project that we look forward to unveiling much later this year.

Impossible is still very much a project. As a startup with two giant factories, we’re still learning, every day. Your support, patience, and belief in our product is why we’re here, and I wanted to thank you for this. I also wanted to assure you we’re not taking this job lightly, even for a second.
