The Fujifilm Instax Mini 8+ is a charming instant camera that makes analog photography possible in an uncomplicated and fun way. With its retro design and easy operation, it appeals to both beginners and experienced photographers.
The camera was probably introduced in 2015. The copies were produced in China. It is available in the colors: yellow, pink, brown, mint and white. The pink version was sold in a special edition in collaboration with Barbapapa. In addition to the camera, a special lens cap with a printed heart and a rubber cover in the shape of Barbapapa are included.
There was also a special edition in collaboration with Hiroshima Tōyō Carp, a Japanese baseball team, and a Love Live! School Idol Project Edition.
The camera uses Fujifilm Instax Mini Film, sold separately, and produces small, credit card-sized images with a distinctive white frame. For color images there is the Instax Mini Film*. Black and white images can be taken with the Instax Mini Monochrome*.
Equipped with a Fujinon lens with 60 mm focal length and a fixed aperture of f/12.7, the Instax Mini 8+ is ideal for portraits, group photos and snapshots. The optical real image viewfinder with target marking makes image composition easier, while the focus range from 0.6 meters to infinity enables a variety of subjects.
The fixed shutter speed of 1/60 second is optimal for well-lit scenes and ensures sharp images. The exposure can be adjusted manually by turning the dial on the lens to the setting recommended by the light meter. The built-in flash with automatic light control ensures even illumination and reduces red-eye.
The Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Plus is powered by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*), which are enough for around 10 films. The scope of delivery includes a practical carrying strap, a close-up lens attachment for macro photography, two AA batteries and an easy-to-follow instruction manual. With its compact dimensions of 116mm x 118mm x 68mm and a weight of 307 grams (excluding batteries, strap, close-up lens and film), the Instax Mini 8+ is easy to transport.
