The Sprocket Rocket Peacock is one of the many versions of Lomography’s panoramic camera. This version is finished in a blue-green color. Its range of functions is similar to other editions.
Technical Features
A fixed super wide-angle lens with a 30 mm focal length and a maximum aperture of f/10.8 is integrated into the camera. The uncomplicated plastic lens creates a typical image effect, characterized by pronounced vignetting and diminishing sharpness at the edges.
The Sprocket Rocket offers two exposure options: 1/100 second for standard images and bulb mode for extended exposures. Since there is no shutter lock, multiple exposures can be easily achieved.
The manual film advance system allows the film to be advanced and reversed. There are two focusing ranges: one from 0.6 to 1 meter for subjects at close range, and another from 1 meter to infinity for anything beyond that.
The camera is also equipped with a connection for external flash units (hot shoe) and a thread for tripods on the bottom.
Film Selection and Development
Common 35mm film / 35mm (eBay / Amazon*) is suitable for the Sprocket Rocket. Due to the special recording format used by the camera, the capacity of a standard 36-exposure film roll is reduced to approximately 18 panoramic shots. Color negatives with a light sensitivity of ISO 400 are recommended, as they ensure great adaptability to different lighting situations.
To make the typical sprocket holes visible, the film must not be cut along the perforation during the development process, as is standard. Panorama prints are not a standard feature of photo labs; For this, either specialized providers are necessary or you have to scan the negatives in order to be able to print them afterwards.
