Samsung Evoca 70SE

The Samsung Evoca 70SE is a 35 mm camera. It belongs to the group of snapshot cameras with zoom function. It was marketed under the name “Samsung VEGA 77i”. The body of the camera is silver.

There is a fixed lens installed in the camera. The lens has a maximum aperture of f/4.5 and the focal length range of the zoom is 35 mm to 70 mm. The photographer cannot select the aperture and exposure time.

There is a bulb mode for long exposures. Here, the shutter can remain open for a variable time and expose the film. For shooting in low light, there is a built-in flash, this ensures clear shots.

A special feature of the camera is the possibility of exposing the current date and time in the film. There is also a panorama function. However, this only consists of two bars in the image and does not change the viewing angle.

The camera weighs 180 grams and measures 10.9 x 3.3 x 6 cm. The camera requires a CR2 battery (eBay / Amazon*). This supplies power to the flash and LCD display, among other things.

The Samsung Evoca 70SE is designed for 35mm film. These films are still manufactured and can be specified with almost any developing vendor. A good choice for color and black and white images is made with, for example, the Kodak Portra 160* and the Ilford HP5*.

The film transport is automatic. The photographer does not have to advance it. At the end of the film roll, the film is also automatically rewound back into the cartridge.
