The Rollei ATO 2.1 is a black and white film.
It was previously offered under the name “Maco GF (Genius Film), but exclusively as sheet film. The ATO 2.1 is also available as a flat film for large format cameras, but also for medium format (120) and 35mm cameras.
The orthochromatic black-and-white film is a lith film. Actually, this type of film is used for making reproductions of documents and drawings. If you use it for “normal photography”, you get very dramatic and high-contrast images.
The full name of the film is “Rollei Advanced Technical Ortho Supergraphic ATO 2.1”. It is coated on a synthetic film base.
According to the manufacturer, the sensitivity is approximately between ISO 15 and 25. It is developed in a suitable black-and-white developer.
Sample images
The images shown were taken with an Olympus OM-2 with a 50 mm f/1.4 at ISO 12. The Rollei ATO 2.1 was already 11 years old when the exposure was made. The film was developed with Adox Atomal 49 developer. The film was developed at 21 degrees for 10 minutes. The developer was not diluted.
