Price List: Film Development at Müller

Müller stores, like most German drugstore chains, offer the possibility of developing photographic films. Customers can drop off their films at the branch and specify their individual preferences, such as the desired size of photo prints. The films are then sent to a large lab where they are processed. After completion, the films are returned to the branch, where they can be picked up and paid for by the customer.

A significant aspect of film development at Müller is the associated costs. These vary greatly and depend on the film format and type of film.

Generally, a flat development fee is charged. In addition, there are costs for photo prints or digitization. For some film formats, photo prints (first copies) are mandatory and must be ordered, even if the customer does not wish them.

The number of prints produced naturally depends on the format and length of the film. In the following overview, we assume 36 (35mm format) or 12 (medium format).

35mm Films

The most used and widespread film format in photography is the 35mm format. With its handy dimensions and excellent adaptability, it has established itself as a favorite. Films for the 35mm format are typically 35mm wide and allow 24 or 36 exposures. Thanks to its popularity and easy availability, cameras and accessories for this format are readily obtainable. Photographers appreciate the versatility of the 35mm format and enjoy using it for various shooting situations.

Color Negative Films (C-41)

The development of the vast majority of color films is done using the C-41 process, which is indicated on the cartridges. These film cartridges are accordingly marked with C-41, CN-16, CNK-4, or AP-70.

Slide Films (E6)

Slide films are developed in the E6 process, which results in finished slides after completion. The option of professional mounting is no longer provided, so it is necessary to mount the slides yourself. During development, it is not possible to obtain prints. The only costs incurred are solely from the development process.

Black and White Films

The development of black and white films is also offered as a service. However, it should be noted that no individual development of the films is carried out. For full control over the development process and the best possible results, it is therefore recommended to develop black and white films yourself.

Medium Format Films

Roll films in medium format are used in photography and differ from the usual 35mm format by their larger image area, leading to more detailed images. Due to their higher image quality and flexibility, they are very popular among professional photographers.
