Price List: Film Development at Budni

Budni, like many other German drugstore chains, also offers film development. Customers can drop off their films at the store and specify their preferences, such as the desired print size. The films are then sent to a large lab where they are processed before returning to the store for pickup and payment.

A key aspect of film development at Budni is the associated costs. These vary greatly depending on the film format and type of film.

Typically, a flat fee is charged for development. Additionally, costs are incurred for prints or digitization. For certain film formats, prints (first copies) are mandatory and must be ordered even if the customer does not want them.

The number of prints produced naturally depends on the film format and the length of the film. In this summary, we assume a standard number of 36 prints (for 35mm films) or 12 prints (for medium format films).

35mm Films

Among the various film formats in photography, 35mm is the most widely used and commonly encountered option. Its compact size and high flexibility have made it a favorite among photographers. 35mm films are typically 35mm wide and accommodate 24 or 36 exposures. Due to its popularity, a wide range of cameras and accessories have been developed specifically for this format. Photographers appreciate the versatility of the 35mm format and use it for a variety of photography projects.

Color Negative Films (C-41)

Most color films use the C-41 development process, which is indicated on the film cassettes. These cassettes are accordingly marked with C-41, CN-16, CNK-4, or AP-70.

Slide Films (E6)

Slide films are developed using the E6 process. After development, you receive the finished slides. A service for mounting the slides is no longer offered, so you must handle mounting yourself. During the development process, it is not possible to make prints. The only costs incurred are for development.

Black and White Films

In addition to color film development, black and white film development is also offered. However, it should be noted that this process does not involve tailored development of individual films. If you want full control over the development process and the best possible results, it is recommended to develop black and white films yourself.

Medium Format Films

Medium format roll films are an alternative to the common 35mm format in photography, offering a larger area for captures. Due to their superior image quality and versatile applications, they are particularly popular among professional photographers.
