The Presto Print Kleurenfilm 200 is a color negative film that was marketed under the Presto brand. Despite being marketed under this brand, the film stock in the packaging was produced by a different manufacturer.

The Presto Print Kleurenfilm 200 is suitable for traditional color photography. The film’s sensitivity is specified as ISO 200, which is ideal for everyday shots and vacation photos.

Film processing

Nowadays, if you come across a roll of film, it must be developed using the C-41 process in order to view the images. To do this, the film can simply be taken to a photo lab. Unlike black-and-white film processing, the development process for color film is standardized.

In Germany, large drugstore chains offer Color 200 development services. After successful development, one receives the film strips with the personal photographs.

After that, the finished negatives can either be scanned and printed or prints can be made directly. Many professional photo labs offer the option of making photo prints in various sizes during the development process.

Conversion of negatives to digital formats

In order to use the images from the film strips digitally, they should be digitized using a scanner. There are many devices for converting negatives and other film formats, which differ in functions and prices. After digitization, the photos can either be digitally edited or used in printed form.

Film formats and alternatives

The Presto Print Kleurenfilm 200 was only available in 35mm format and was not available for medium format cameras.

The film cartridge of the 35mm film had a DX code that many cameras could read and automatically adjust the film speed.

Suitable cameras for 35mm format are offered by manufacturers such as Zenit, Rollei or Porst. However, there are also other cameras that are suitable for the use of 35 mm film.

The color negative film is no longer produced and is no longer available from photo dealers. An alternative for 35mm format is Kodak Gold 200*, which is still available and provides solid results.
