Praktica BMS is a camera from Pentacon. It is a single lens reflex camera that was produced between 1989 and 1990. The model is practically identical to the Praktica BM, but the BMS has a built-in self-timer. The Praktica BMS was also marketed under the name “Revue BC 2” by Foto Quelle in West Germany.
The lenses of the Praktica BMS can be changed. It features a Praktica B mount. You have to focus the lens by hand. The 35mm camera does not have an autofocus function.
The built-in light meter makes it easier to measure exposure. It was designed to work with films between ISO 12 and ISO 3200. The exposure is measured through the lens. The aperture and shutter speed can be selected by the photographer as desired.
The camera has a bulb mode. The shutter can remain open for a variable time. An external flash can be used with the 35mm camera via hot shoe.
Films for the Praktica BMS
The Praktica BMS exposes 35mm films. For this film format, there is still a good selection of material for color and black and white images. One option for b/w images is the AgfaPhoto APX 100*. A possible film for color pictures is the Kodak Portra 400*.
The color film is processed in the C-41 development process. The C-41 process is offered by almost all photo labs.
A 135-36 film can hold at least 36 shots. For the next frame, the photographer has manually wind the camera.
The Praktica BMS has a built-in self-timer. It also comes with a thread for a cable release and tripod. The dimensions of the 35mm camera are 13,8 x 8,7 x 4,9 cm. The weight of the camera body is 480 g. The power supply for the 35mm camera is provided by V28PX (eBay / Amazon*).
The Praktica BMS is no longer in production. The value of a used copy depends on the condition of the camera.

what does the battery do on the practical BMS as I have put new battery in ,but nothing seems to have happened
