Fujifilm Instax Mini Link Plus

  • Standard

The Fujifilm Instax Mini Link+ is a mobile photo printer for the Instax Mini instant film format. The device is used to transfer digital images from a smartphone to photochemical paper. Fujifilm introduced this model as an extension of the existing Mini Link series. It expands the range with function modes for reproducing texts, typography, and graphic elements on instant photos (Instax Mini Film*).

The device uses the widely used Instax Mini film format with external dimensions of 86 by 54 millimeters and a visible image area of 62 by 46 millimeters. Exposure is carried out via an internal light source that projects the image data point by point onto the light-sensitive emulsion of the film. The resolution is 318 DPI with a color depth of 256 levels per RGB color channel.

After the exposure process, the ejection mechanism pushes the paper out of the housing within 15 seconds. The chemical development of the colors then takes place in the air and takes about 2 to 3 minutes until the visible result.

The connection to the smartphone is made wirelessly via Bluetooth. All printing functions are controlled via an accompanying application for the iOS and Android operating systems. In addition to the standard mode for classic photographs, the device has a special mode for graphic printing. This mode is optimized for the recognition and precise contour representation of lettering, graphics, and illustrations.

Users can select various templates via the software, add decorative frames, or combine several individual photos into a collage. The application also offers a virtual preview that allows printed images to be visualized digitally on walls or shelves.

Additional motion sensors are integrated into the housing. By tilting the printer, the zoom of the smartphone camera can be controlled remotely. The printer's power button can also serve as an external shutter release for the paired phone if needed.

The housing features a compact design and a dark appearance with colored elements. A permanently installed lithium-ion battery is responsible for power supply and is charged via a USB connection. A full battery charge is sufficient for exposing about 10 film cassettes, which corresponds to a total of 100 images. The system offers a direct way to output digital photos onto instant film without using an analog camera.
