Porst Compact Reflex AM

The Porst Compact Reflex AM is a SLR camera. The 35mm camera is a product of Photo Porst. The camera was built by Cosina. The 35 mm camera was also available on the market under the name “Cosina CT-4”.

The lenses of the Porst Compact Reflex AM are interchangeable. For this purpose, a Pentax K bayonet was installed in the camera. It is necessary to focus the lens manually on the desired subject.

The Porst Compact Reflex AM has a built-in light meter. The exposure meter is designed for 35mm films from ISO 25 to ISO 3200 and the 35mm SLR measures the exposure through the lens (TTL).

The aperture can be selected by the photographer and the exposure time is set automatically. The aperture and exposure time can also be set completely freely by the photographer. The camera comes with a bulb mode. The shutter can remain open for a variable time and expose the film. A more external flash can be used at the PC flash port or Hot Shoe for pictures.

Films for the Porst Compact Reflex AM

Which films are required for the Porst Compact Reflex AM? The camera is designed for 35mm films. 35mm films are still produced by different producers. Beautiful 35mm films for color or black-and-white images are the Kodak Ultramax 400* and the Kodak TRI-X 400*.

The development process for the color film is the C-41 process. This is offered by almost every photo lab.

The film of the camera is wound manually. With the additional motor “PORST SLR motor-AM” the film is automatically wound and thus two pictures per second are possible.

The 35mm camera comes with a thread for a tripod. A self-timer is also built in. The camera has a weight of 530 g. The dimensions are 13,5 x 8,5 x 4,8 cm. The power supply is provided by two LR44 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

The Porst Compact Reflex AM can today only found in used condition. The condition and functionality of the camera determine the price for a used copy.
