Unfortunately there is bad news from the Niederladen. Polaroid Originals has stopped the production of films for the Spectra format. This step affects color and black-and-white film. The reason given is the low reliability of the old models. Another reason will probably be the low popularity compared to the other instant image formats.
The Spectra format, also called Image in Europe, was developed by Polaroid. After Polaroid’s demise, The Impossible Project produced film for the old instant cameras again. The Impossible Project was later renamed to Polaroid Originals.
There is no alternative for the old Spectra cameras. A similar format is the Instax Wide Format from Fujifilm. However, the films can only be used in the corresponding cameras from Fujifilm or Lomography.
