The Phoenix P1 is a reflex camera for 35mm films. Cosina was responsible for the development of the camera. They offered the model under the name “Cosina C1”.
The Phoenix P1 offers the possibility of interchangeable lenses. It features a Pentax K lens mount. The Phoenix P1 does not provide an autofocus function. The focus is set manually.
The 35mm camera has a built-in light meter. It was designed for work with films with a ISO of 25 to 3200. The exposure is measured through the lens. The shutter speed and aperture can be selected by the photographer.
The camera comes with a bulb mode. The shutter can remain open for a variable time. An external flash can be connected via hot shoe. The 35mm camera has a connector for a cable release. There is also a thread for mounting a tripod.

Films for the Phoenix P1
The Phoenix P1 exposes 35mm film. The 35mm format is the most common film format. Therefore, some manufacturers still produce for this format. Beautiful 35mm films for color or black-and-white images are the Fujifilm Superia 400* and the Ilford XP2 Super*.
