Cosina C1

The Cosina C1 is a reflex camera. It was presented and built by Cosina in the 90s. The model was built under different own brands. In Germany it was available under the brand “Carena”. The Cosina C1s is similar to the C1, but comes with a self-timer.

The lenses of the Cosina C1 can be changed. The camera can be used with Pentax K lens mount lenses. The Cosina C1 does not provide autofocus system. Focusing is manual.

For photographing, the Cosina C1 an exposure meter. It is designed for films in an ISO range of 25 to 3200. The correct exposure is measured through the lens of the SLR camera. The aperture and shutter speed can be selected by the photographer as desired.

The photo camera comes with a bulb mode. An external flash can be connected via hot shoe. The 35mm camera has a connector for a cable release. There is also a thread for mounting a tripod.

The dimensions of the Cosina C1 are 13,8 x 8,8 x 5,8 cm. It brings 370 grams on the scales. The power source of the 35mm camera are two LR44 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

Films for the Cosina C1

For taking pictures with the Cosina C1, 35mm films are needed. Films of this format are still easy to get today and are still being developed. A great film choice for color photos is the Agfaphoto Vista 400* and for black and white pictures the Kodak TRI-X 400*. The color film is processed in the C-41 process. This is offered by almost every photo lab.
