The Nikon TW Zoom 35-70 is a snapshot camera. It was introduced by the Japanese manufacturer in 1990 and was aimed at beginners for pictures of holidays, parties etc. The model was also offered as Nikon Zoom Touch 400.
The camera comes with a fixed zoom lens. The focal length of the lens ranges from 35 mm to 70 mm. The maximum aperture is f/4 (35mm) and f/7.6 (70mm). Focusing of the lens is done by a built-in autofocus system. The close-up limit for this lens is specified as 65 cm (wide) and 100 cm (telephoto).
The camera is equipped with a built-in light meter. It has been designed for films with a sensitivity of ISO 64 to ISO 1600. The film speed is determined by the DX code on the film cartridge. The 35mm photo camera comes with a built-in flash. Besides the normal automatic flash there are three other modes. So the flash can be switched off, always trigger and trigger with a red-eye reduction.

Under this name was the model with the possibility of exposure of the recording time. The Quartz Date model weighs 10 grams more and is slightly lower (14.3 x 7.3 x 5.4 cm). An additional battery is needed for the built-in clock. The CR2025 button cell (eBay / Amazon*) is usually even more durable than the regular battery.

Which films does the Nikon TW Zoom 35-70 need? It needs 35mm films. 35mm films are still produced today and can be developed in most laboratories. Possible films for the zoom camera are the Kodak Ultramax 400* for colour photos and the Ilford XP2 Super* for B/W photos.
The colour film is a colour negative film and is developed in the C-41 process. This is offered by almost every photo lab. For developing you can also hand in your colour films at many drugstores.
The exposure area of the Nikon TW Zoom 35-70 has a size of 24 mm x 36 mm. With the size of the exposure range, a normal film (135-36) can usually take 36 photos. The film is automatically transported and also automatically rewound. The captured images are shown in the camera display.
