The Nikon FM2/T is a camera from Nikon. It was introduced to the public in the 90s. It is a variant of the Nikon FM2. The housing of this variant is made of titanium and is therefore even more resistant than the “original”.

The lens of the Nikon FM2/T is exchangeable. It features a Nikon F lens mount. This lens mount was first introduced in 1959. Over the years, the lens mount has been revised and refined. Other manufacturers of matching lenses include Sigma, Tokina, Tamron and Samyang. Caution is advised, however, as not all lenses can be used with all cameras. The Nikon FM2/T has no autofocus. It is manually focused.

Photography is made easier by the built-in exposure meter. It is designed for an ISO range of 12 to 6400. Exposure is determined by SLR when measured through the lens (TTL). The correct exposure can be set automatically by the camera. The aperture and shutter speed are freely adjustable.

Bulb mode is available for long exposures. In this mode, the shutter will open as long as the shutter release button is pressed. An external flash can be connected to the Hot Shoe. There is also a PC flash socket. The Nikon FM2/T comes with a self-timer. There is also a connector for a cable release and a thread for a tripod.

The power supply comes from two LR44 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

Films for the Nikon FM2/T

The Nikon FM2/T was built for the 35mm format. 35mm films are still produced by different manufacturers. For black-and-white shots, you can go to with the AgfaPhoto APX 400*. For color images, the Fujifilm Superia 400* is a possibility.

The color film is processed in the C-41 process. This development process is available at almost every photo lab.

The exposure area of the Nikon FM2/T is 24 mm x 36 mm big. At this size, 36 images will fit on a 135-36 film. The film is winded manually in the camera.
