The lens of the Nikon F2 Photomic A is interchangeable. A Nikon F lens mount was installed for this purpose. In most cases you will find the camera with the Nikkor 50 mm f/1.4. More than 60 years ago, the first lens with the Nikon F mount was introduced. Later, an autofocus function was added.
Other manufacturers, besides Nikon, of compatible lenses include Tokina, Tamron, Sigma and Samyang. But beware, not all modern camera lenses can be used with the old cameras You have to focus the lens manually.
The Nikon F2 Photomic A has a built-in light meter. It is designed for films in an ISO range of 6 to 6400. The correct exposure is measured through the lens. The aperture and shutter speed can be freely selected by the user.

Films for the Nikon F2 Photomic A
Without photo films, nothing works with the Nikon F2 Photomic A. The camera needs 35mm films more precisely. These films are still being produced and the development is offered by most photo labs. A good choice of film is the Agfaphoto Vista 200* for color photographs and the Ilford FP4 Plus* for black-and-white images.
The development process for the color film is the C-41 process. The C-41 films are offered by most photo laboratories.
The exposure area of the Nikon F2 Photomic A has a size of 24 mm x 36 mm. A common 35mm film fits about 36 photos at this size. There is no automatic film transport. The film must be winded by hand.
The model is no longer in production. The prices for the camera vary depending on the condition.
