The Nikon F Photomic T is a single lens reflex camera. The 35mm camera was produced by Nikon. The model was introduced in the mid 1960s and is based on the original Nikon F. The difference is the viewfinder with light meter.
The lens of the Nikon F Photomic T is exchangeable. This is possible trough the Nikon F lens mount. Often you will find the 35mm camera with the Nikkor Auto 50 mm f/1.4 lens. This lens connector was first introduced in 1959. Since then it is the standard at Nikon and was not discontinued with the introduction of an autofocus.
In the course of 60 years, over 400 different lenses were manufactured under the Nikkor label. But not all modern camera lenses can be used with the old film cameras. It is necessary to focus the lens manually on the desired subject.
The 35mm camera has a built-in light meter in the viewfinder. It is suitable for films with ISO 20 bis ISO 6400. The SLR camera determines the correct exposure when it measures through the lens (TTL). The aperture and exposure time can be freely adjusted according to the photographers wishes.
The 35mm camera has a bulb mode. In this mode, the shutter will open as long as the shutter release button is pressed. An external flash unit can be connected to the PC flash socket. The Nikon F Photomic T has a built-in self-timer. It also comes with a thread for a cable release and tripod.
The camera weighs 810 grams and the dimensions are 14,7 x 10,6 x 10,4 cm. The camera needs two 1,3V mercury batteries.
