Positive news for all film photographers from Cinestill and Rollei.
Rollei Vario Chrome
Rollei / Macodirect has introduced a new slide film, the Rollei Vario Chrome. The color film can be exposed between ISO 200 and ISO 400. Images with the Vario Chrome are characterized by moderate sharpness with slight grain and warm color rendition. The DX coding will be ISO 320. The slide film is developed in E6 process.
The material for the film was offered to Rollei a year ago by a large film producer. Actually, the development of a own film was planned. Because the material is limited, the limited edition will only be available for 35mm cameras (135-36).
One roll of the Rollei Vario Chrome 35mm film will probably cost around 9 euros. It can be pre-ordered from July 1, 2017.
Cinestill 50D
Also from the USA there is positive news. After the 800 Tungsten, the CineStill 50 D will now also be available for medium format cameras. The film can be pre-ordered now and will be delivered in August 2017. One roll of 120 roll film costs 12 USD.
The CineStill 50D is an ISO 50 film and is designed for daylight shots. The material comes from Kodak 50D. The film can be developed normally in C-41 process.
