The Lomourette Picnic is an edition of the Lomography Lomourette. It will be sold with a flash in 2024 for around 90 euros. It looks very similar to the Diana Mini Picnic, but some functions are missing.
The Lomourette is a 35mm camera whose classic design is reminiscent of models such as the Diana Mini and Diana F+. As a toy camera, it is primarily designed for creative and experimental photography.
Technical features
The camera has a built-in 24mm lens with a maximum aperture of f/8. Focusing is done manually in four steps (0.6 m, 1-2 m, 2-4 m, 4 m – infinity). There is no integrated light meter, instead two exposure times are available: 1/60 second and bulb. The latter enables long exposures with variable duration. Multiple exposures are also possible.
The camera is compatible with the Diana F+ flash and can also be used with other flash units using an adapter. It does not require batteries and does not have connections for a tripod, cable release or self-timer. However, a camera strap can be attached.
Film selection and handling
The Lomourette uses 35mm film, a format that is still used by many photographers and for which various manufacturers offer films. Popular options are the B/W 100 for black and white photography and the Kodak Gold 200* for color photography. Both films are versatile and produce good results in a variety of situations. Of course, there are a variety of other suitable films.
The color film is a negative film that is developed using the C-41 process, a service that most photo labs and many drugstores offer. The camera exposes an area of 24 mm x 18 mm and usually holds 72 images per roll of film. The film is transported manually.
