The Lomourette Half Frame is a 35mm camera from Lomography. The first model was sold in 2024. It is a simplified version of the Diana Mini. As with the Diana Mini, there are different editions of the camera.
Functions
The camera in retro design, inspired by classic film cameras, is ideal for creative and experimental photography. It has a fixed 24mm lens with a maximum aperture of f/8. The focus is set manually and offers four levels to choose from.
Two exposure times (1/60 second and bulb) are available, and multiple exposures are also possible.
The camera does not require batteries and has connections for a flash (Diana F+ Flash or Hot Shoe Flash with adapter). It is not suitable for tripod or cable releases and does not have a self-timer. However, a camera strap can be attached.
Films & Format
The Lomourette is a 35mm camera. The appropriate films are still sold by many manufacturers and suppliers. In principle, you can use any film (eBay / Amazon*) for the 35mm format. A roll usually holds 72 images with a size of 24 x 17 mm per image.
Differences to the Diana Mini
As described, this is a variant of the Diana Mini. The housing is very similar to the 35mm camera, which in turn is based on the Diana F+. However, the Lomourette lacks some functions.
The four main differences are as follows:
Only one aperture setting
With the Diana Mini, you had the choice between two aperture settings. This setting option is missing with the Lomourette.
Different image format – 24 x 18 mm instead of 24 x 24 mm & 24 x 17 mm
With the Lomourette, all images are recorded in 24 x 18 mm format. The Diana Mini can capture the images on film in a square format or 24 x 17 mm format. There is a switch on the back of the Diana Mini to switch between them. The square format is based on the original Diana F+.
No connection for cable release
The Diana Mini has a connection for a cable release, which is particularly useful when using the bulb function. This connection option is missing on the Lomourette.
No connection for tripod
The Diana Mini has a tripod thread on the bottom.
