In May 2024, the limited Lomo’Instant Automat Klimt Gold Leaf Edition camera was unveiled by Lomography. Their design is a homage to the art of Gustav Klimt. Another edition is the Klimt Water Serpents II / Maiden.
Design of the camera
The Lomo’Instant Automat camera in this exclusive Gustav Klimt Edition is a real eye-catcher. The back of the camera is decorated with a detail from Klimt’s famous painting “The Kiss”, which shows the golden, intimate motif of the lovers. The front of the camera presents an excerpt from “Golden Adele,” another Klimt masterpiece known for its opulent gold tones and decorative elements.
Functions of the Lomo’Instant Automat
The Lomo’Instant Automat is an instant camera that works with Fujifilm Instax Mini Film and is characterized by its fully automatic exposure control. Aperture, shutter speed and flash are automatically adjusted for optimal results.
Three included lens attachments provide creative freedom: fisheye, wide angle and close-up. The camera also offers unlimited multiple exposures and a long exposure mode for shots up to 30 seconds.
The operation is designed to be user-friendly, while advanced functions such as exposure compensation leave room for experimentation. The camera is powered by two CR2 batteries (eBay / Amazon*) and has a remote control that requires a CR1632 battery. There is no cable release.
Films for the instant camera
The Lomo’Instant Automat Klimt Gold Leaf requires Instax Mini films to create images. These films are manufactured by the Japanese company Fujifilm. Instant film is not included with the Lomography instant camera and must be purchased separately. You can easily purchase films for Lomo’Instant online.
For lovers of black and white photography, Fujifilm offers the Instax Mini Monochrome*. The color film is also available in various special editions (eBay / Amazon*), such as the Instax Mini Contact Sheet. A package usually contains a plastic cassette containing the unexposed images. A total of ten pieces are contained in a film cassette.
