Kyocera TScope2

The Kyocera TScope2 is a 35mm camera. It was produced by Kyocera itself, which also owned the Yashica brand at the time. The compact camera was also marketed under the name Yashica T3 Super.

The heart of the Kyocera TScope2 is the Carl Zeiss Tessar T* f/2.8 35 mm lens. The fixed focal length offers a maximum aperture of f/2.8 and a close focusing distance of 50 cm.

The camera automatically controls the focus, exposure time and aperture. Film transport is also automatic. In unfavorable lighting conditions, the integrated flash ensures sufficient lighting.

Additional features of the camera include a self-timer, a tripod mount, a continuous shooting function and a focus lock. The manufacturer also specifies that the compact camera is splash-proof.

The TScope2 is powered by a 2CR5 6V battery (eBay / Amazon*), which, according to Kyocera, should be sufficient for around 1500 shots with 50% flash usage.

The Kyocera TScope2 weighs 275 grams without the battery and has dimensions of 128 x 67.5 x 52 mm. This makes it a good companion for travel or as a camera for a wedding reception.

Films for the analogue camera

With the Kyocera TScope2, all 35mm films (eBay / Amazon*) with a sensitivity between ISO 64 and ISO 3200 can be used. The camera determines the sensitivity through the DX coding of the film roll. If this is not available or cannot be read, an ISO value of 100 is automatically selected.

The recommended color film for the camera is Kodak Gold 200*. Excellent black and white recordings can be achieved with the Ilford Delta 400*. Both films come from renowned manufacturers and therefore guarantee consistently good results. Of course there are many other films from other manufacturers.
