The Kodak KB Zoom is a 35mm camera. It was sold by Eastman Kodak in the early 2000s. The model was aimed at beginners and casual users. The body is made of plastic and has a black and gray color scheme.

A fixed zoom lens is installed in the 35mm camera. It is the only model in the KB series with a zoom lens. 28mm to 50mm is the zoom range of the lens. The maximum aperture is f/6.5 at 28 mm. The distance setting of the lens cannot be changed. The close-up limit of the lens is 1.5 m.

The Kodak KB Zoom determines the correct film speed via the DX code. The camera can be used with ISO 100, ISO 200, ISO 400 and ISO 800 films. The manufacturer recommends using ISO 400 film for the best results. The photo camera has automatic exposure and sets aperture and shutter speed automatically. Shutter speeds of 1/60 second and 1/200 second are available for the camera to choose from.

The built-in flash provides enough light. The flash range at ISO 100 is 3.7 meters (28 mm) and 2.4 meters (50 mm), respectively. With ISO 400 film, you can be up to 7.3 meters away from the subject. The readiness of the flash is indicated via an LED on the back of the camera. The charging time is around five seconds.

The dimensions of the Kodak KB Zoom are 13.2 x 7.8 x 5.6 cm. It weighs in at 253 grams. Power is supplied by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*). The film is automatically rewound by the Kodak KB Zoom.

Films for the Kodak KB Zoom

What kind of films are needed for the Kodak KB Zoom? You have to get 35mm film for the camera. There is still a sufficient selection of material for color and black and white images for this film format. A nice film for color images is the Kodak Ultramax 400* and for black and white images the Kodak T-Max 400*. Both films are well suited for everyday and vacation shooting.

The color film is processed in the C-41 development process. The C-41 process is performed by almost all photo labs. You can drop off your films at most drugstore chains in Germany, for example. Black and white film from Kodak must be processed in a black and white developer. This type of development is offered by most professional photo labs.
