Kodak Elite Chrome EB 100

Kodak Elite Chrome EB 100 has established itself over the years as a reliable choice for photography enthusiasts. As a slide film with ISO 100 sensitivity, it offers the possibility to produce images with high detail and a balanced contrast ratio. Originally aimed at hobby photographers and amateurs, this daylight film’s properties may also be of interest for semi-professional applications. The restriction to 35mm format can be seen by some as a kind of nostalgic return to traditional photography.

One of the distinguishing features of this film is its fine grain with an RMS value of 8, which makes it an excellent choice for applications where high image quality is important, such as portraiture. This is where its ability to reproduce skin tones and general colours excellently comes into its own. The neutrality of the colour reproduction can be of great benefit in artistic projects as well as documentary photography.

The Kodak Elite Chrome EB 100 is processed using the E6 process, a common process for reversal films that allows it to produce high-resolution slides with brilliant colours and a wide dynamic range. Unfortunately, production of the Kodak Elite Chrome EB 100 was discontinued by Eastman Kodak, an indication of the photography industry’s transition from analogue to digital technology.
