The Kodak Cameo Focus Free is a simple camera for snapshots on vacation or everyday life. It was introduced by Kodak in the 1990s. The new price of the model was around 50 US dollars at that time. The plastic housing of the camera is black. It has the same range of functions as the Kodak Cameo, Cameo EF and Cameo efm. The cameras were produced in China.

The camera comes with a lens that cannot be changed. The focal length of the lens is 34 mm. The maximum aperture is f/5.6. The focus of the lens cannot be changed. The closest focusing distance is one meter.

The correct exposure cannot be measured by the 35mm camera because it does not have an exposure meter. The shutter speed is fixed at 1/125 second. The aperture value does not change when taking a picture, but depends solely on the ISO setting. With a slider on the front of the camera you can choose between ISO 100/200 and ISO 400.

The Kodak Cameo Focus Free has a built-in flash. There is also a slider on the front of the camera to turn off the flash for taking pictures. Power is supplied by two AAA batteries (eBay / Amazon*). The 35mm photo camera has a thread for a tripod.

In the Kodak Cameo Focus Free, 35mm films are exposed. These are still easy to get today and are still being developed. Of course, you don’t have to use Kodak films alone, but you can also use films from other manufacturers. Films with a sensitivity of ISO 100, ISO 200 or ISO 400 are recommended.

Possible films for the Kodak Cameo Focus Free are the Kodak Gold 200* for color images and the Ilford HP5* for black and white images. Both films can be used flexibly and are wonderfully suited for everyday images. With a thumbwheel on the back of the camera, the film is rewound after the picture has been taken.
