The IOR Orizont Expo is a 35mm camera. It was built in Romania by the state Intreprinderea Optica Romana. The model was developed by the German company King KG from Bad Liebenzell. The IOR acquired a license for the production.

The lens of the IOR Orizont Expo cannot be exchanged. The focal length is 40 mm and the maximum aperture is f/2.8. There is no autofocus with the 35 mm camera. You have to focus on the subject manually.

Measuring the exposure is made easier by the built-in light meter. The exposure meter was built for films with a sensitivity of ISO 25 to ISO 400.

The camera comes with a Bulb setting option. The shutter is open for a variable time. This mode can only be used with a cable release. The camera can be screwed onto a tripod for blur-free shooting.

An external flash can be triggered via the built-in hot shoe. No batteries are needed for taking pictures.

Films for the IOR Orizont Expo

The IOR Orizont Expo exposes 35mm films. 35mm films are still produced today. They can be developed in most photo laboratories. A great film choice for color photos is the Kodak Portra 400* and for black and white pictures the Ilford Delta 400*.

The color film is processed in the C-41 development process. C-41 films can be developed by most photo labs. The black-and-white film must be processed in a developer such as D-76, Rodinal or HC-110. This type of development is also still offered by professional service providers.

Other film material is available, for example, from Foma in the Czech Republic, Lomography in Vienna or Fujifilm in Japan.
