Hema Super SR 200

The color negative film Hema Super SR 200 was once part of the range of a Dutch retail chain under its own brand. The company itself was not responsible for its production. The film was in HEMA’s range until the early 2000s. In addition to the ISO 200 version, an ISO 400 variant was also available.

Hema Super SR 200 allows for the creation of classic color photographs and has a recommended ISO of 400, making it suitable for a wide range of shooting situations. The product was aimed mainly at amateur photographers rather than professionals.

Film development

A found Hema Super SR 200 can still be used. After the film is fully exposed, it must be developed without being exposed to light to prevent loss of images.

Unlike the development of black and white film, the C-41 development process follows a standardized procedure.

In Germany, Hema Super SR 200 can be dropped off for development at major drugstore chains. After processing, the customer receives film strips with the captured images.

The finished negatives can be scanned, printed or produced as prints. Many developing labs also offer the option of having prints made as a complementary service.

Digitizing

Another option is to digitize the negatives using a scanner. Photo labs often offer this service, but a home scanner can also be used. The digitized images can then be shared on various platforms or printed in different formats.

Film formats of the Hema Super SR 200

The Hema Super SR 200 was only offered in 35mm format. One roll of this color film can take 36 pictures.

The film cassette has DX encoding, and there is a wide range of suitable 35mm format cameras from various brands such as Olympus, Rollei and Fujifilm.

A cost-effective alternative is the Kodak Gold 200*, which is also available in 35mm format and provides reliable color photos.
