Halina Tegra AF

The Halina Tegra AF is a 35mm snapshot camera produced by Haking. It was also available under the names “Haking Tegra AF” and “Ansco Tegra AF”. It was manufactured in a factory in Hong Kong. The camera is aimed more at beginners and occasional users.

Technical features

The camera has a fixed lens and an integrated autofocus system. The maximum aperture is specified as f/4.5. The focal length will probably be around 35 mm. This makes the camera well suited for everyday and vacation shots.

A built-in flash with fill-in flash function provides additional lighting in difficult lighting conditions. There is a light on the back that indicates that the flash is ready.

Power is supplied by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*). This type of battery is very easy to get hold of. One set of batteries lasts for a long time and therefore many photos.

The camera has no manual setting options. There is also no tripod thread or self-timer.

Film format and development

The Halina Tegra AF uses 35mm film, which is still widely used today and can be developed without any problems. Suitable films include the Kodak Ultramax 400* for color photos and the Ilford XP2 Super* for black and white photos.

The camera exposes an area of ​​24 mm x 36 mm on the film. The film is transported automatically by a motor. The inserted film can be seen through a small window on the back. The return transport is also automatic.

Availability

Production of the Halina Tegra AF has been discontinued. Used copies are available on the market, although the price depends on the condition of the camera. The value of this type of camera is in the low double-digit euro range.
