The Fujifilm Superia Venus 800 is a color negative film. It is part of the Superia family and was designed for the Japanese market.

Despite its high sensitivity of ISO 800, the Fujifilm Superia Venus 800 is said to have a first-class image quality. The high film speed makes it perfect for use with a snapshot camera or a light-hungry toy camera.

But it also does well in low-light situations. These include shots in dark interiors or at dusk. If you still can’t get the exposure settings you want, you can also use a flash with the Japanese film.

Development

C-41 is a type of colour negative film commonly used for 35mm photography. The C-41 process is a standardised method for developing colour negative film and is used by most commercial laboratories and photo shops.

The developed negatives can then be digitised with a scanner, for example. Many laboratories offer this service directly. Likewise, a standard service is the production of photographic prints. The disadvantage of doing it directly at the processing plant is that you naturally get prints of every picture. So in the end you also have prints of pictures that are perhaps not so successful.

If you have not yet exposed the Fujifilm Superia Venus 800, it should be kept in a cool, dry place until it is exposed. After exposure, the film material should be developed as soon as possible. A longer waiting time, months to years, can have a negative effect on the image quality.

The Fujifilm Superia Venus 800 is only available for 35mm cameras. If you can’t get it in Germany, you can switch to the Kodak Portra 800* if you want.
