The Fujifilm Klasse is a snapshot camera. The 35mm camera is a product of Fujifilm. The Fujifilm Klasse was also sold on the market under the name “Rollei AFM35”. Similar cameras are the Fujifilm Klasse S and the Klasse W.
The lens of the compact camera is fixed. It bears the name “38mm f2.6 Super EBC Fujinon lens.” The focal length is 38mm and the maximum aperture is f2.6. An autofocus system has been built into the Fujifilm Klasse for focusing the lens. The minimum distance to the subject is 0.4 meters. However, the focus can also be set manually.
The 35mm camera has an exposure meter. It can be used with films from ISO 50 to ISO 3200. The film speed from the camera technology is read out via the DX code.
Exposure settings can be set automatically by the camera. The shutter also has a Bulb setting. In this mode, the film is exposed as long as the shutter button is pressed. The shortest exposure time depends on the aperture (1/290 s at f2.6, 1/1000 s at f16).
In low light conditions, the built-in flash can be used.
Films for the Fujifilm Klasse
The Fujifilm Klasse requires photographic film to take pictures. More precisely, 35mm films are needed. 35mm films are still produced today and can be developed in most laboratories. Films in the range of ISO 50 and ISO 3200 can be used without any problems.
Possible films for the compact camera are the Kodak Ultramax 400* for color photos and the Rollei Retro 400S for b&w images. The development of the color film is the C-41 process. The C-41 film is offered by most photo labs.
The Fujifilm Klasse exposes an area of 24 mm x 36 mm. Thus, around 36 images fit on a normal film (135-36). The film transport is automatic.
The dimensions of the camera body are 123 x 63.5 x 37 mm. It weighs 250 grams. A CR2 battery (eBay / Amazon*) is used for power supply. There is a display on the top.
The Fujifilm Klasse is only available second-hand. The prices for the camera vary depending on the state of preservation.
