Agfa APX 100 | Guide for the black-and-white film

The Agfa APX 100 is a black and white film. With its nominal speed of ISO 100, it is well suited as an everyday film.

The panchromatic film delivers solid results with good sharpness. It is developed in standard black-and-white film processor. Rodinal is recommended for the Agfa APX 100, as it harmonizes well with it. This combination is very suitable for beginners, because the development is quite simple and one is quickly rewarded with acceptable results.

The panchromatic black and white film is no longer produced. However, remaining stocks are still sold by AgfaPhoto under the same name. Rollei also sold the APX 100, under the name Rollei Retro 100.

How so the APX 100 is still around today?

Years after the film was discontinued, the black and white film is still available for purchase. This was due to the fact that the film was produced by Agfa in huge quantities and the disposal of the raw material would have been more expensive than the packaging of the material.

Development times

The development times refer to the old Agfa APX 100. The times for the APX 100 in the AgfaPhoto packaging (with the red sensor dot) may differ.
