Dubblefilm Cinema is a color negative film. Dubblefilm is the trademark owner and uses it for the distribution of the film material. The material was produced for cinema film production and not for photography. Who the producer is is not communicated by Dubblefilm.

The Cinema is a film for color images. The sensitivity of the film is specified by the manufacturer as ISO 800. Graininess clearly appears at this high sensitivity. With the ISO value, the film material is well suited for shooting in natural light.

Photos with the film are characterized by strong colors. In daylight, the color photos have a bluish tint. A halo effect occurs around red light.

Development of the film

The film is normally developed using the ECN-2 process. This process is specifically designed for developing films for motion picture production. Recording films for motion picture cameras come with a remjet coating. This coating is removed in one development step because it could otherwise contaminate the developing baths. In the case of Dubblefilm Cinema, the coating has already been removed and it can therefore be developed in the normal C-41 process.

The C-41 development process is offered by the vast majority of laboratories. One advantage of this development process is that you always get the same result, regardless of the lab, because the process is standardized. The Dubblefilm Cinema can be handed in for development at Rossmann or DM-Markt, for example. At the end of the development process, you have the film strips with the captured images.

Formats

The Cinema is only available for 35mm format. 36 photos fit on one roll of the color film. Encoding to the DX standard cannot be detected on the film cartridge. Modern 35 mm cameras can only use the film to a limited extent if they lack the DX encoding for automatic film speed adjustment, unless they have a manual adjustment option.

Suitable cameras for the 35mm format are offered by various manufacturers, such as Zorki, Kodak and Revue. Great cameras are also available from Olympus and Nikon.

Storage

The quality of later photos also depends on how the unexposed film stock is stored. When storing the film material, it is recommended to choose a dry and cool place. It is recommended to develop exposed film promptly to avoid prolonged storage.
