Carena Super mini AF

The Carena Super mini AF is a snapshot camera. It was developed by Carena and presented in the 90s. The new price was 149 D-Mark in 1993. In addition to the black plastic camera, the package also included an infrared remote control, bag and wrist strap.

The camera comes with a fixed focal length lens. The focal length is unchangeable and is 45 mm. The lens is focused by autofocus.

The Carena Super mini AF has a built-in light meter. It can be used with films from ISO 100 to ISO 1000. The aperture and exposure time can be set automatically by the camera’s technology. In low light conditions, the built-in flash can be used. The self-timer enables automatic pictures.

The compact camera weighs 185 grams. Power is supplied by two AAA batteries (eBay / Amazon*) or one CR123A battery (eBay / Amazon*).

Films for the Carena Super mini AF

You cannot use the camera without photographic films. The Carena Super mini AF requires 35mm film. 35mm films are still manufactured and are developed without problems at most photo labs.

The camera’s negatives have a size of 24 mm x 36 mm. At this size, about 36 pictures fit on one film. The film transport is automated by a motor. It will also rewind the film automatically at the end of the roll.

The production of this model was ended and today you can buy it only used. The cost of the compact camera differs depending on accessories and condition. However, for a few euros you should already get a copy.
