The Carena 35 MF is a viewfinder camera. It was built for Carena, a brand of the German photo seller Photo Porst. The camera was introduced in the 1980s.
A fixed lens is built into the camera. The focal length of the lens is 34 mm. The maximum aperture is f/3.5. The focus of the lens is fixed.
In the Carena 35 MF an exposure meter was integrated. Exposure settings are set automatically by the camera. There is a built-in flash for taking pictures in low light conditions. For long time exposures there is a thread for a tripod.
Films for the Carena 35 MF
The Carena 35 MF is designed for the 35mm format. The 35mm format is very common, which is why there are still some manufacturers and many development laboratories. Possible films for the Carena 35 MF are the Agfaphoto Vista 400* for color shots and the Ilford Delta 100* for b/w photos.
The color film is processed in the C-41 process. This development process is available at almost every photo lab.
The exposure area of the Carena 35 MF is 24 mm x 36 mm big. As a rule, 36 shots are possible per film (135-36) at this negative size.
The camera can be bought today only used. The value of a used Carena 35 MF depends mainly on the condition and if it works correctly. However, you can’t get much for the camera any more, because with its plastic housing it’s one of the cheaper cameras and there is a high offer from this kind of cameras.
