Carena FL-M

The Carena FL-M is a snapshot camera. It was sold by Photo Porst in Germany. The camera’s casing is made of black plastic and makes a correspondingly cheap impression.

The lens of the Carena FL-M is fixed. The Carena FL-M does not have an autofocus. The distance is fixed. On the front, it bears the imprint “Japan Lens”.

The Carena FL-M has a built-in light meter. The correct exposure is set automatically by the camera. In low light conditions, the built-in flash can be used.

The dimensions of the Carena FL-M are 12.5 x 7 x 4.5 cm. It weighs 250 grams. Power is supplied by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*). The film transport of the camera is motorized.

Films for the Carena FL-M

Nothing works for the Carena FL-M without 35mm films. 35mm films are still offered by various manufacturers. A 35mm film for color photography is the Fujifilm Superia 400*. A possible black and white film is the Ilford Delta 400*.

Color film is processed using the C-41 process. The C-41 process is standardized and is offered by most developing labs. For example, you can hand in your films for developing at many drugstores in Germany.

The processing of the black and white film must be done in the appropriate photochemistry. There is a wide range of possible brands here. The correct composition of film and developer is somewhat different for each film, and of course the desired result also plays an important role. Some photo labs offer the development of black and white films, you have more control if you get the right chemistry and develop it yourself.
