The Candido 400 is a color negative film available under the Candido brand. However, it is not from the Candido Collective.
The Candido 400 is suitable for color photography and offers a film speed of ISO 400, which ensures the ideal exposure for the film. The ISO value describes how light-sensitive the material is: a lower ISO value requires more light for a well-exposed shot.
With its sensitivity, this film is well suited for everyday photography or studio shots. However, in very bright environments or with a large aperture, a different film is recommended.
Film development
The C-41 process is necessary for developing the film, which many photo labs use as standard. The uniform sequence of this process ensures consistent quality of the results in every photo lab. The Candido 400 can be developed in photo labs at Rossmann or DM-Markt, for example. At the end of the process, you receive the developed negatives.
The finished negatives can then be scanned and printed. Many labs also offer prints directly from the negatives. For digital use of the images, the film strips can be digitized with a scanner. There is a wide range of scanners that vary in price and quality and are suitable for different budgets. Digitized images can then be used online as well as printed.
Available formats
The Candido 400 is only available in 35mm format, with one roll allowing up to 36 shots. The film cartridge is equipped with a DX code that modern 35mm cameras can use to automatically detect the film’s light sensitivity. Many camera brands such as Revue, Porst and Olympus offer suitable models for 35mm photography.
Recommended storage
To preserve the quality of the film, the material should be stored optimally before exposure.
Unexposed film lasts best when stored in a cool, dry place. Already exposed material should be developed promptly, as longer storage can lead to a loss of quality.
