The Revueflex 5005 is a SLR camera. It was sold by Revue / Foto Quelle and introduced in the 70s. It was manufactured for the Bavarian company by the Japanese manufacturer Chinon. The 35mm camera was also sold by the Japanese company under its own brand name as "Chinon CE II Memotron".
The lens of the Revueflex 5005 is exchangeable. This is possible trough the M42 lens mount. In most cases the camera comes with the Revue Auto Revuenon 1:1,4 f = 55 mm. There is a wide range of lenses for the M42 screw mount. The first M42 lens was developed by Zeiss. Large producers of M42 lenses were Pentax, Zeiss, Pentacon and KMZ. You have to focus the lens manually.
The camera comes with an exposure meter. The exposure meter is designed to measure exposure through the lens of the camera. The exposure can be set automatically by the camera in aperture priority mode. The desired exposure time can be also determined manually. The aperture is also individually selectable.
The Revueflex 5005 has a bulb mode, for example for long exposures. With the Bulb setting, it stays open as long as the photographer holds the shutter button down. Hot shoe flashes can be used with the Revueflex 5005. There is also a PC flash socket.
Films for the Revueflex 5005
The Revueflex 5005 needs photo film, more precisely 35mm film. 35mm films are still produced by different producers. One option for b/w images is the Ilford HP5*. A possible film for color pictures is the Agfaphoto Vista 400*.
The color negative film is developed in the C-41 development process. The C-41 process is offered by almost all photo labs.
Them Revueflex 5005 exposes an area of 24 mm x 36 mm. For example, a 36-frame 35mm film can hold at least 36 photos at this size. The film is winded manually in the camera.
If you like, you can use the built-in self-timer or a separate cable release to trigger the camera. The possibility of using a tripod provides the necessary stability. The camera weighs 760 grams and the dimensions are 14,5 x 9,7 x 5,45 cm.
The 35mm camera can only be found in used condition trough second hand sellers. The condition determine mainly the price for the camera today.
