Revueflex 2000 CL

The Revueflex 2000 CL is a camera from Foto-Quelle from the 70s. It was produced by the Chinon company in Japan. There, the model was sold as Chinon CX. In Germany it was also available as Revueflex 3000 SL. This model has the same functions, but comes with a black case. The CL comes with a black and chrome body.

The lenses of the 35mm camera are interchangeable. Lenses with an M42 thread can be used. The M42 thread is more standardised and manufacturer-independent, so a large number of lenses have been produced. The lens thread was developed by Carl Zeiss in Jena. M42 lenses were manufactured by Pentax, Pentacon, Meyer-Optik and Beroflex, among others. The lens is focused by hand. The 35mm camera does not have an autofocus function.

The 35 mm camera has a light meter. This is designed for an ISO range of 25 to 3200. The correct exposure is measured through the lens of the SLR camera. The exposure time can be set manually. The aperture is also freely selectable. The camera does not have an automatic exposure.

The Revueflex 2000 CL has a bulb setting. An external flash unit can be used via the hot shoe or PC flash connection. The camera has a thread for a tripod. In addition, there is a connection for a cable release and a self-timer with a ten-second lead time.

According to the manual, the camera measures 14.8 x 9.5 x 5.3 cm. It weighs 770 grams without the lens. Power is supplied by a PX625 battery (eBay / Amazon*).

Films for the Revueflex 2000 CL

Nothing works with the Revueflex 2000 CL without 35mm film. 35mm films are still produced today. They can be developed in most laboratories. A 35mm film for colour photography is the Fujifilm Superia 400*. A possible black and white film is the Ilford FP4 Plus*. Of course there is a wide range of additional suitable films for this camera.

The colour film is a colour negative film and is developed in the C-41 process. The C-41 films are offered by most photo labs. For example, you can take your films to most drugstores for development.

The exposure area of the Revueflex 2000 CL has a size of 24 mm x 36 mm. This means that at least 36 photos fit on a 36-frame 35mm film. The film is rewound manually in the 35mm camera. Rewinding into the camera must also be done manually.
