The Kodak S10 is a simple snapshot camera. It was produced by Kodak in Mexico and introduced in the 80s. The housing is made of plastic and cannot be described as particularly high-quality. The camera was sold in a variant of black and red.
The lens of the photo camera is fixed and was built in the USA. The focal length is unchangeable and is 36 mm. The largest available aperture is f/8. The 35mm camera does not have an autofocus. The distance is fixed. A slider on the lower part of the camera can be used to slide the lens cover in front of the lens.
The correct exposure cannot be measured by the Kodak S10, as it does not have a light meter. The aperture and shutter speed are fixed and cannot be changed. There aren't many setting options in general.
The built-in flash provides sufficient light. This can be turned off with a switch on the bottom. The power source of the 35mm camera are two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*). The batteries are only necessary for the flash, the rest of the camera works mechanically.
Films for the Kodak S10
Nothing works for the Kodak S10 without 35mm films, even in this day and age. These are still easy to get today and are still being developed. Two great films for the 35mm camera are the Fujifilm Superia 400* and the Ilford Delta 400*. Both can be used to take beautiful color and black and white pictures, respectively. The film in the camera must be manually rewound by the photographer. The camera does not have a window to see the type of film.
The Kodak S10 is no longer in production. Prices for a used copy depend on condition. The S10 is not a sought-after specimen due to its low quality and few features. However, it is still not so easy to find a copy in Europe, as it was not really sold in this area of the world.
