The Kodak S300MD is a point-and-shoot-camera for the 35mm format. It was manufactured by Kodak from 1988 to 1993. The model was built in a factory in Brazil on behalf of Eastman Kodak.
The still camera comes with a fixed focal length lens. The lens bears the name "Kodak Ektanar". The lens has a maximum aperture of f/4.5 and the focal length is 35 mm. The focus of the lens is fixed. A sliding door protects the lens from scratches and dirt.
The 35 mm camera has an exposure meter. It is designed for films from ISO 100 to ISO 400. The sensitivity is set with a slider on the front in two steps ISO 100/200 and ISO 400. The 35mm camera has an automatic exposure and sets aperture and exposure time automatically.
The Kodak S300MD has a built-in flash. The flash cannot be influenced in its strength and there are no different flash modes. There is an LED on the top that indicates the status of the flash. Two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*) are responsible for the power supply.
Films for the Kodak S300MD
Nothing works for the Kodak S300MD without the appropriate photo films. More precisely, the camera needs 35mm films. For this film format, there is still a good selection of material for color and black and white images. One possible film for color images is the Kodak Gold 200*. A possibility for B&W images is the Ilford Delta 400*.
Color film is developed using the C-41 process. This development process is available at almost every photo lab. The exposed black and white film must go into a black and white developer for development.
The exposure area of the 35mm camera is 24 mm x 36 mm. The film is automatically advanced by the 35mm photo camera. Through a small window on the back you can see which type of film is in the camera.
