The Fujifilm Instax Wide 300 is an instant camera from Fuji. It was introduced in 2014 and is still in production today. The matching films are also still in production. It is one of the successors of the Instax Wide 100.

The Instax Wide 300 is easy to use and the functions can be internalized in a short time. Even inexperienced photographers can easily take beautiful pictures.

The camera comes with a built-in fixed focal length. The focal length is unchangeable, zooming is not possible, and is 95 mm. The largest available aperture is f/14, but to get sharp pictures you need to be at least 90 cm away from your subject. There are two levels of focus, 90 cm to 3 m and 3 m to infinity. With the included close-up lens, it is also possible to take close-up pictures, for example selfies.

Exposure is set automatically by the camera. The user does not need to select aperture or exposure time. With a light/dark button on the back, the exposure can be slightly influenced. The display for the number of remaining pictures is also located there.

The built-in flash fires every time the shutter is released. It automatically adjusts itself to the exposure settings. The range is up to 3 meters. After the release it needs between 0.2 and 6 seconds to recharge, the status is indicated by a green/red LED.

The dimensions of the instant camera are 16.7 x 9.4 x 12 cm. According to the operating instructions, it weighs 612 grams without strap, batteries and film.

Four AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*) are responsible for the power supply of the camera and the flash. According to the manual, these should be sufficient for ten packs of film, i.e. 100 pictures.

Films for the Instax Wide

The Instax Wide 300 is designed for the Instax Wide format from Fujifilm. Films are produced directly by Fujifilm. There is a color film and a film for black and white images. Both films provide solid results and are well suited for events such as weddings or birthdays.

A picture is 8.6 by 10.8 cm, about twice the size of an Instax Mini picture or credit card. The actual photo takes up 6.2 by 9.9 cm. The rest is filled by the white frame, which are also writable. After ejecting the image from the camera, the image is developed in a few minutes.

The instant pictures are in a cassette, which is placed in the camera. Afterwards it may only be opened again after the ten pictures, which are in one package, have been taken.
