The Astrum Photo 200 is a black and white film. The film is distributed by Astrum Ltd. from Ukraine. Astrum is based in the Ukraine and was founded in the 90s. The main focus of the company is the sale of films for professional aerial photography. After the bankruptcy of the Soviet photo company Svema, Astrum took over the remainder.
It is questionable whether this photographic film, as one reads, is produced in the old Svema factory in Shostka (Ukraine). It is more likely that the film is only packaged or marketed by Astrum.
The Astrum Photo 200 is a film for black and white photography. The manufacturer specifies the sensitivity as ISO 200. It is panchromatically sensitized and has a spectral sensitivity of up to 750 nm in the infrared spectrum. The emulsion is cast on a transparent 0.10 mm polyester base.
Development of the film
The Astrum Foto 200 must be developed in a proper black and white developer. The development of black and white films is offered by some photo laboratories in Germany. You have more control if you develop the film yourself and choose the photochemistry.
Formats
The availability of the Astrum Foto 200 is limited to the so-called 35 mm format. With a size of 24 x 36 mm per image, 36 images fit on the film.
The film cartridge does not have DX encoding. This can cause problems when used in some cameras. Some 35 mm cameras derive the film speed for setting the exposure from this encoding. If there is no manual setting option, a value of ISO 100 is usually set. In this case, you must either adjust the development or use another 35 mm camera for the Astrum Foto 200.
