Sino Promise

Sino Promise Group is a transnational business conglomerate specializing in professional imaging products, digital imaging and industrial strategic investment. Founded in Hong Kong in 1993, the company has since become a major player in the imaging industry.

A significant milestone in Sino Promise Group’s history was the acquisition of Kodak Alaris’ global photographic paper, photographic chemicals, display and software businesses in November 2020, such as Kodak Alaris’ factories in Xiamen and Wuxi.

The group is headquartered in Hong Kong, with another headquarters in mainland China, more specifically in Fujian province.

An important connection of Sino Promise Group is its partnership with Reto Production Ltd. in Hong Kong. This company has received authorization for production and sales from Eastman Kodak Company and has appointed Sino Promise Group as a distributor for various regions, including mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, Southwest Asia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Australia and New Zealand.

It becomes especially interesting for analog photographers in terms of analog camera production. Thus, since 2021, the company offers different cameras for analog photographic film. The cameras will be marketed under the well-known and legendary brand name Kodak.

However, the new models cannot boast the technical finesse and impressive features of many Kodak cameras. The cameras are more intended for spontaneous snapshots than for photographers with high technical demands. There are almost no setting options, and they don’t knock anyone’s socks off in terms of image quality. However, they are all the more fun to use because you can just shoot away.
