The Polaroid Now Gen 3 is Polaroid’s latest instant camera, introduced in March 2025. It succeeds the Now Gen 2 from 2023 and comes with a starting price of €129.99 (or $119.99 / £119.99).
The new model boasts technical refinements such as an optimized light meter position, an improved rangefinder, and a more advanced autofocus. However, the basic functionality remains unchanged, which is why upgrading from an earlier version is only worthwhile to a limited extent.
Color Variants
The Polaroid Now Generation 3 is available in several color variants. Standard versions are available in white/gray, as well as models with white/blue, white/purple, white/yellow, and white/coral bodies. Limited special editions are also occasionally offered.
Functions of the Polaroid Now Gen 3
The Polaroid Now Gen 3 is an instant camera with various technical features. It features an autofocus system for automatic focusing and a double exposure function that allows multiple exposures in a single image.
A built-in flash is used to brighten up low-light situations, and a self-timer is also included.
Power is provided by an integrated battery that charges via a USB-C port.
Compatible Films
The Polaroid Now Gen 3 primarily uses i-Type films, which were specifically designed for Polaroid cameras without their own power supply in film packs. These films are available in color, black-and-white, and special editions with different frame colors. An example of a currently available color film is Polaroid Color Film for i-Type*.
One film cassette contains material for eight exposures. Development of the physical photo begins after the shot and takes a few minutes. The images feature the signature Polaroid instant aesthetic with a surrounding border.
The camera is also compatible with Polaroid 600 film. These have the same format as i-Type films, but contain a built-in battery, which is required for operating older Polaroid camera models. Since the Polaroid Now Gen 3 has its own battery, the battery in the 600 film cartridges is not required. i-Type films do not contain this battery.
