Functions

The camera lens of the Mamiya Sekor 528 TL is permanently installed and cannot be replaced. It is called “Sekor 1:2.8 f=48mm”, with a focal length of 48mm and a maximum aperture of f/2.8. Focusing is done manually, with the shortest distance to the subject being 80 cm.

This camera has an integrated CdS light meter. Although the aperture and exposure time can be adjusted automatically by the camera, it is also possible to determine these individually.

Bulb mode allows for long exposures, leaving the shutter open for as long as desired. This is particularly useful for night shots. Should additional light be required, an external flash unit can be connected via either the hot shoe or the PC flash port. The camera body measures 14 x 9 x 8 cm and weighs 680 grams.

Films

As for the films for the Mamiya Sekor 528 TL: It requires 35mm films. Currently available options are e.g. the Kodak Ektar 100* for color images and the Kodak T-Max 100* for black and white images. Both films deliver solid results with the camera. Of course there are other manufacturers of suitable film material.

Color film is processed using the C-41 process, a process available in most photo labs. Black and white films require special photochemistry for their development. Although you can send the film to a lab, it’s best to do the processing yourself for best results.

Nowadays, the Mamiya Sekor 528 TL is only available used. Their price and value will vary depending on their condition and functionality. For a used copy you currently have to put about [camera_used price] on the table.
